Zombie Apocalypse

Are you scared yet...LOL... Here we are Sunday night already....where did the weekend go??? Crazy how we get to the weekend and it's over in the blink of an eye..  Seeing that it's Sunday night and the season finale of the Walking Dead, I wanted to share with you, my card for this weeks Stampotique Challenge.  This weeks Hostess is Nellie van Leeuwen and here is what she has to say:

"What's your favorite technique to make backgrounds?  I love making backgrounds with distress ink on a craft sheet.  I use distress ink, memento, brusho's, distress stains, whatever I feel like working with. Quick and easy and a different and surprising result every time."

This was a super fun challenge for me, as creating backgrounds for my projects is my favorite part of creating.  Currently, my favorite background technique is creating with acrylic paint.  I used to be petrified of using paint, but once I embraced the medium, I haven't stopped using it.
For this weeks project I used cheap acrylic paint (0.33 cents a bottle) from AC Moore, and painted the base black and layer with color.  I then used a wet paper towel and dabbed of the paint, which brought some of the black through the layers.  I used Penelope, who completed my zombie themed project. I would love for you to come and join us for this week background challenge and a chance to win free product.  Thank you for stopping by and I hope to see you over at Stampotique !

You Shine Brighter Than Neon!

Happy Tuesday!  I hope you enjoyed your weekend.  Life has been crazy busy this past week.  I just started a new class towards my Bachelors and as always, I feel as though I never have enough time for anything.  So, I am running a bit late on this weeks challenge over at Stampotique Originals, but i managed to squeak in before the deadline. This weeks challenge hostess is Astrid Stulemeijer and here is what she has to say about this weeks challenge.

"At first I was a bit afraid of these intense colors, but after using them, I really love them.  They give your work such a nice "pop".  I challenge you to use at least one neon color.  Can't wait to see your eye popping work!"

I decided to make a small journal piece, using Kate Crane's Bunny Boy, and splatter Blob for my background, which I did with acrylic paint. I hope you will check out our new challenge tomorrow and come play.

Going Grey With Scrap-Creations Challenge: Pastels

Happy Tuesday and Happy St. Paddy's Day.  I hope you enjoyed your weekend.  We have a great challenge for you this week.  We want to see your projects using pastels.....Pastels is definitely a challenge for me.  I am more of a brights girl myself, but I managed.  I created this journal page using acrylic paint for my background, and I used two of  Stampotiques new stamps: Queen of Everything, and Crowd .   I will admit that I had a rough start on this page, as I had no idea what I was doing, but it worked out, and I used PASTELS :)

Last weeks "green" challenge entries were fantastic, and as always it was hard to choose....The TOP 3 last week were:

Stars

Happy Wednesday!!!!  I hope you are having a great week this far.  The time change has me all messed up this week I have been late with everything I do. Dang time change! Anyway, I managed to get this weeks challenge completed.  This weeks challenge over at Stampotique Originals is being hosted by sue and Carol, and here is what Carol has to say "stars, use one star or more on your project."
For this weeks challenge, I decided to use stars in my background,  I had bigger hopes for this journal page, but oh well.  I inked the background with Dylusions sprays and then used paint to make the stars.  I used the following stamps in my project:

                                                               Kates Angel
                                                            Scalloped Lace
                                                                       A Heart
I hope you will hop on over to STampotique Originals and join us for this weeks challenge and a chance to win free product!

Follow your heart!

Wahoo...It's Friday...this week as been CRAZY busy!!! I pulled 3 ten hours day, which wouldn't be bad, if we didn't also have hockey, dance, gymnastics, school, oh yeah, family, house, and dogs....anyway, it's Friday and I am OFF....whoop, whoop...Today I would like to share with you a journal page I made for this weeks Stampotique originals challenge, which is hosted by Jackie Payne, and here is what she had to say: "Numbers have been around for a very long time!  They feature so much in our lives!  I would like you to incorporate a minimum of one number into your project!  I hope you have fun."
I was excited about this challenge, but had to push myself, as I had no idea what I was going to make.  I found some numbered patterned paper, and wanted to use it in my project, so I ended up painting the paper, and then painting it again, and using it on my top and bottom borders. I also couldn't wait to play with Kate Cranes new stamp Boots, which I used in my project and once I started working, I decided I wanted to give boots some wings, and I used the wings from one of Kate's other stamps: Kate's angel. I drew the cloud, and bam...journal page complete!!!  This weeks number challenge is super fun adn I hope you will join us over at Stampotique Originals!  Have a great weekend.
